Puppet:Kikyo // Kikyou Passed Down: Cursed:Female Rotations:
Died around the age of 18.
Form:
Undead // Human.
Class:
Priestess // Miko.
Destruction:
Bow and Arrow.
Powers/Abilities/Talents:Kikyo carries a traditional red Saigu-Yumi (literally Priestess Bow) and a quiver of Hamaya ( "evil-destroying arrow" or "demon-breaking arrow") fletched with white feathers. She has the ability to imbue each arrow with great spiritual power that has destroyed, disabled or sealed any Yokai or other evil to date.
Attitude Check:
Before her death, Kikyo was very loyal and full of nothing but kindness. She cared for everyone in her village, and loved with a big heart. Even though she was told of her fate, she fell in love with the half demon Inuyasha. The two of them held a deeper love, perhaps deeper and truer then anyone else has before.
Though at the time of her death, Kikyo felt betrayed. Not knowing that it was a trap set by Naraku, she blamed and hated Inuyasha. Pinning him to a tree to rot away. She died hating Inuyasha, but he would always have a soft spot in her heart.
After her reincarnation,
Kikyo was a shell of her former self. No longer was the sweet smiling girl there, instead her eye's held nothing but pain and anger to wards Inuyasha. Even to her reincarnated self, Kagome, she can seem quite blunt and harsh. A mixture of jealousy to wards Inuyasha's new love.
Now that a few year's have passed, Kikyo has learned that it wasn't Inuyasha that had killed her, In fact it was Naraku. Her anger and pain has been directed to that Demon, though she is still nowhere near to her former self, she can be seen caring for those that need her help.
Mirror: Kikyo wears a white jacket with sode-kukuri (cords) through the sleeves and the open shoulders similar to Inuyasha's and Jaken's. Strings called muna-himo are attached to each lapel, and are tied in front to keep the garment closed.
Kosode were originally worn as underwear but by the Kamakura era, became accepted outer layer garments; more dressy with less sculpted sleeves. Kosode of the Heian and Kamakura Periods were always white. Kikyo's kosode would be very much like a modern Kendo or Naginata Keikogi, with the sleeve fitting somewhat closely like a modern loose shirt, and extending to slightly past the wrist.
Kikyo wears bright red hakama, which include the small board at the lower back.
On her feet, Kikyo wears common tabi, which are socks, and rice straw sandals.
Kikyo wears a red Obi, or belt, over the other garments.
Kikyo is very pale, and thankfully with her garments she is protected from the wrath of the sun. If not covered properly, it can easily burn.
She has long flowing black hair, that reaches past her waist. It has a very slight wave to it, but you can never tell if she keeps it pulled back. She has her bang's cut short, Lining her wide set face. She has beautiful and not to mention very expressive honey brown eye's. They are large, and lined with thick black lashes. Her eyebrows are thin, and rarely can be seen thanks to her bangs.
Thanks to being one of the Undead, she can not bleed like other's. In fact there is no blood running through her body, she is simply a cold shell left to wander the earth.
Return to the Past:Kikyo was the shinto priestess entrusted by the Yokai Taijiya(Demon Slayers) to guard and purify the fabled Jewel of the Four Souls (Shikon no Tama).
Kikyo slew many yokai that tried to gain possession of the jewel; however, she could not force herself to kill Inuyasha, a han'yo who is half-human and half-Inu yokai/Dog Demon. She felt as though InuYasha was idled from his kind, as she was with hers. On several occasions she would immoblize Inuyasha when he attempted to steal the jewel, and had brief conversations with him. Inuyasha had followed her for a long period of time. Soon they spent more time together, and the two of them began to have feelings of love and compassion for each other. Kikyo told Inuyasha that the Shikon Jewel could be used to make him completely human, as opposed to his original intention of becoming a full yokai. Kikyo speculated that if the jewel were used to turn Inuyasha into a human, it would be purified and vanish, which would free Kikyo from her duty to protect the jewel and she could then live as a normal woman with Inuyasha. He agreed, believing this was the better option.
The following day, Kikyo arrived at the area where they had agreed to meet, but Inuyasha was not present. When she went out into a field to attempt to find him, she was attacked by Naraku, disguised as Inuyasha. She collapsed to the ground as he escaped with the jewel, proclaiming that he had "absolutely no intention of becoming human" and that the jewel needed to "absorb even more bitter blood", thus effectively framing Inuyasha for the evil deed. Kikyo limped back to the village in pain, only to find that the real Inuyasha, who was also tricked by Naraku in thinking that Kikyo wanted to kill him, had attacked the village and was escaping with the Shikon jewel.
Drawing on her last strength, Kikyo fired a sealing arrow (F¨±in no Ya) at Inuyasha to seal him to the Sacred Time Tree (Goshinboku). She collapsed the instant after Inuyasha was sealed, and instructed her younger sister Kaede to burn the Shikon no Tama with her body to assure that none can exploit the terrible powers the jewel holds. With that, she died. In the anime (but not in the manga), this tragic fate of Kikyou was foretold through a curse laid by Tsubaki, (a powerful Miko) when she told Kikyo that "a priestess must abandon her heart to achieve power ... this includes love as well" and "You must extinguish love. You must never hold a man dear," or else she would "suffer an untimely death."
After Resurrection
Kikyo had been dead for fifty years already until the yokai Kijo Urasue attacked her village and stole Kikyo's ashes along with some burial soil from her grave. Using her powerful magic, she re-created Kikyo's body in the hopes that Kikyo would find and retrieve the shards of the Shikon Jewel (which was incidentally shattered by Kagome) but, to the old yokai's dismay, Kikyo's soul had not returned to her body.
Angered for a while, until Kagome and Inuyasha, along with Shippo and Kaede, were attacked by Urasue's guards. With a quick attack, the yokai had Kikyo's reincarnated soul and eventually (with Inuyasha's unknowing help) revived Kikyo, who immediately killed Urasue and went on to attack Inuyasha. Kagome however somehow managed to get most of her soul back after Kikyo's assault. With only one part of soul within her Kikyo fled, fueled by the bitter hatred she felt for Inuyasha at the moment of her death.
However, despite this hatred that she bears for him, she cannot deny her feelings of love and well being for him as well, for it is her wish to die with him and descend into hell, where they can be together forever. Kikyo attempted to do this once, yet upon remembering Kagome, Inuyasha interrupted the process.
Kikyo's body is not made of flesh and blood; she only has a bit of soul and strong, willful determination. As a result of this, she must find ways to sustain her "unlife" until she can kill Naraku. Kikyo fulfills this need by using Shinidamachu (dead soul insects, known as Soul Collectors in the dub of the anime) to collect the souls of deceased women, allowing her to move and continue her journey.
It is important to note that the Kikyo appearing after her death is very different from the one who had just died. She no longer smiles and hardly shows any emotion except pain or panic when being attacked by an opponent. Whenever she is not going after Naraku, she can be seen aiding the wounds of soldiers.
Other:If I missed anything, Let me know! :]
Sample Role play:Clouds rolled over head in a dark array of patterns. In the silence in the air, a clear sign of the Storm brewing high in the skies. The lands for once seemed empty, to calm. The humans has scurried away to hide in their safe village's, Demons had all but hidden away deep in their caves and other hide outs. All but seemingly one.
Pale skin seemed to fall grey under the dark clouds over head, the humans head was shadowed by her hair as it fell in a cascading wave around her. Despite the chilly air, and the coming storm, the undead girl sat admist the flowers, her Shinidamachu could be seen flowing around her. Waiting for their master to take cover, though she wouldn't.
Kikyo was the young woman's name, Once a beautiful and highly respected Priestess. Now only a cold shell of her former self, Left to wither away lonely and cold. Not even could she feel the warm pump of her heart in her chest, now it was like she was hollow and empty. A sigh rattled her frame, and her eyes opened slowly. It had been a few weeks since she had seen Inuyasha and his friends, and once again she was feeling her Love for him creeping up on her once more.
Even though she had hated him for so long, for something that damned Naraku had done, It was hard to see him in a different light. How she wanted to hold him tight in her arms, whisper 'I love you' and everything be alright. But she couldn't, and that was something she knew deep down inside. He had Kagome, and she was nothing but a shell. Empty and Lifeless.
Thunder boomed over head, and she gazed up at the dark clouds. A single rain drop fell upon her, Running down the side of her face like a tear. Slowly she got to her feet and slid her sandals on, Before heading back to the village. There was a young boy who was sick, It was about time for her to tend to him anyways. [/size]
