'InuYasha do this. InuYasha do that. InuYasha. InuYasha. InuYasha!' He was getting sick of it now. He felt like he was just being used as some sort of slave or something for the villagers back in the eastern lands. Why did they treat him like that? 'Cause he was a hanyou and they knew that Kagome had control over him. If she did with the 'sit' then they may as well have their way too while she was gone.
The inu hanyou had left in the middle of the night to get away from them. He needed some time to himself. Just some time to get away from it all while everyone else did what they wanted. Those villagers didn't really need him. He was just stronger because of his youkai side of him. That's what they liked. They didn't care about him. It seemed like all he had ever been was a tool for someone.
So there he sat, perched up in a tree near the river, trying to relax. Though it wasn't easy because he always waited to do something. To go kill Naraku or even just go and get the shikon no tama jewel shards. He could have done it on his own, and he should have. These people, this 'family' he had now formed meant to much to him now for him to just turn tail and leave them.
He closed his golden orbs and took a deep breath, listening to the roar of the river. He tried to find a rhythm in it but it moved and changed to much. Sort of like life. Things were never the same and it was like they never could be. You couldn't just turn back to the day, week, month, or years before to replay a tune that you had already lived.

Kikyo Time seemed to tick by in long boring drawls. It was quite irratating really, How night and day seemed so pointless to her. She had no need to be in this world, She served her purpose and had died. Then the earth had to be so cruel to bring her back, Let her feel the same pain she felt before she died. The burning hatred for Inuyasha, was now lifted off of her back. Now with finding out the truth, She did her best to track down the Shikon jewel shards, but she couldn't help but to still feel a wall between her and Inuyasha.
After all it had been over 50 year's sense she'd been with him alone.
The Eastern lands were foreign to her, Even though her younger sister Kaede resided there, and her Forest she could not return. It was always places that reminded her of her past, Something she tried and tried to forget. It not that she didn't wish to Remember Inuyasha, but the pain was to much to real for her to just shrug off.
Leaving her small Village, she felt the need to get away. Escape reality for a little while, The village would be fine without her for a little while. Slowly she made her way through the woods, Many youkai scurried away from her dark glare. Many didn't wish to start a feud on this fine day. Something, for once, she was grateful for. She was headed to the Northern Lands, inside lay a beautiful river. It's sounds were nothing but peaceful, and a place where her memories didn't haunt her.
Upon her arrival to the river, she took a quick glance around. It was empty and quiet. Good. She slipped off her sandals and laid them upon the grass, before sitting down in the grass. Then the breeze hit her, There was something familiar in the air that day. Something that used to make her heart rush, her blood pump.. She spun around and gazed straight into a tree and there he was. Sleeping high in the tree, the one who stole her heart and never gave it back.
"Inuyasha" she whispered softly to herself, and for once he was alone..

He dreamed of finding the shikon jewel shards. There was a demon, trying to take them from him and his group as usual but it had one as well. He'd fought with the Tetsusaiga. Sango with her oversized boomerang riding Kirara. Miroku was using his holy staff. Meanwhile Kagome and Shippou stayed behind as usual. It was the classic battle scene that he had faced many times and it seemed like these dreams always replayed in his head over and over if it wasn't of his past.
"Kaze no," he mumbled in his sleep.
Then oddly enough, he rolled over and the tree branch wasn't there anymore, not wide enough to support his action. The inu hanyou fell unwillingly out of the tree and then face planted into the ground. The crash had awoken him and he got up with a growl, not impressed at all by what had happened just now. He lifted a clawed hand and rested it on his forehead for a second.
"Hey Kagome," he shouted aloud in a normal response. "What the hell was that for?!"
As he started to get ready to rant on again about how he thought Kagome made him 'sit,' his golden orbs relased him from the darkness and he stopped and stared for a moment. InuYasha was immediately taken off guard to see Kikyou sitting there by the river. He knew right away she was no Kagome but that didn't explain why he had face planted. The thought left his mind and he blinked, wondering if he was dreaming again.
"Kikyou," he questioned a loud.

When you hate something for so long, It's hard to stop hating them. But what if that someone was your true love? The only person that has ever gotten close enough to your heart, and love you so deeply. This was Kikyo's perdicament. If she could, she would love Inuyasha just as she did before but there was still that distance between them. For that day neither could forget.
The day she died, and he was pinned to the tree. That blasted Naraku killed their love, and changed both of their lives forever. What would've become of them if Naraku hadn't tried to steal the jewel? Would they have lived a happy life, until their natural deaths? It was something that regulary troubled her mind...
With a silent amusement she watched the inu hanyau as he slumbered, He was always so peaceful looking when he slept. If she could, she would've smiled, but sadly her happiness was killed when she was. It had been year's sense a smile touched her features. Though as he fell out of the tree, she gasped softly. Letting her fingers touch her lips, as she stared, Hoping the Hanyau wasn't injured.
Seeing him startled and angry, she wanted to laugh, It was a funny sight. Once again her lungs of ash failed her, and she remained silent. Then his golden gaze shifted to rest upon her, and she felt her body freeze. It was in that instant, that their eye's locked, she felt a wave of emotions. Anger, sorrow, Love, Hate, Joy.. They all twisted in her eye's. It was always an awkward greeting, neither really knowing how to act to one another..
Slowly she got to her feet, Her honey almond eye's never leaving him as she did so. She was cautious and wary, but slowly approached him with curious eye's "Where's your dear Kagome, Inuyasha?" she asked, a bit to harsh then she would like. It was hard to be kind.. It was something she was trying to do again.

His golden gaze scanned over her, taking in hear features, watching as she approached him. No, this was no dream. It was the real thing. His mind was distracted from the tree and he didn't think much of it again after that. It most likely wouldn't be the first or the last time that he would fall from a tree, much less land on his face.
InuYasha's puppy dog like pricked ears swerved back when Kikyou spoke the second that she mentioned Kagome. There was always that tension between them when Kagome came into the picture. He couldn't help buy wonder why she would mention Kagome right away. Maybe because he did? His mind couldn't process it.
"Kagome," he trailed off trying to respond. "She's away."
Then Kikyou's words replayed though his head again and he caught it. His 'dear Kagome?' Oh no. No, no, no. He and Kagome weren't like that. She wasn't dear to him. Well, she was in the back of his mind but he wouldn't want to admit that to Kikyou. Wouldn't that be like some sort of true batrayal then?

Kikyo stood, Shadowing the light from Inuyasha as she stared down at him. It was in these rare moments she could find herself letting her gaze sift over him, and take in every little detail. When she was alone, these were the images she would remember. Him alone and healthy.
Yes Kagome, There would probably always be that Tension there. Kagome spent countless days with Inuyasha while Kikyo was thrown into the world alone. Was it jealousy, yes! This Kagome had her soul, and ran around with her true love. If only she knew it wouldn't anger Inuyasha, she would try and destroy the well so that the girl couldn't come back.
She gave a brief nod as Inu spoke "She's away hmm?" she spoke lightly, taking that in. That Girl wasn't here, and for once she was here with Inuyasha alone. It had been age's since she'd been alone with him. Where no prying eye's could spy upon them. Even her little ghost's fluttered off, they would take this time to go and collect her souls. Otherwise this body of Clay and Ash would just fall a part, and she would be no more.
"You must be upset that your Kagome isn't here.." she stated, curiously pushing his buttons. Hoping he'd slip, Maybe he would spill that he really did love Kagome, and no longer loved her. Though she always wondered if he did love her still, Just as she loved him. Though she wouldn't admit it, she missed him dearly. She missed sitting in the fields together, riding a boat along the river. Those were the peaceful day's, the one's she missed the most.
Slowly she moved to sit down once more, letting her leg's fold out to the side as she leaned on one hand. Her long ebony hair fell down in a wave across her arm and hand, and a few strands danced across her face as she stared at him..

It was very ture that they never really got moments alone together like this anymore. It was so rare. No Miroku, Naraku, Sango, Shippou, Kagome, Kirara, or anyone else. Yet here they were without a single hello, without a single friendly word to each other. He wondered if they had honestly drifted that far apart or was Kikyou just putting up a wall again. Maybe he was the one throwing up barriers. He wasn't sure but figured that this tension wasn't going anywhere any time soon. So sometimes you just had to deal with stuff like this, right?
"She's not my Kagome," he spoke correcting her this time. "I don't own anyone."
Why did she have to keep saying that. Why did it all have to be related to Kagome? Why not just him and Kikyou or the shikon jewel shards. He would have felt more comfortable talking about Naraku other than this. Of course, if Naraku had tried any crap recently that involved harming Kikyou, he would take his head quicker. It wouldn't just be a matter of the shikon jewel shards. Kikyou was alive again, but barely just by the souls that she had to take. He didn't agree with taking souls but still it was Kikyou.
His heart wasn't able to let go of what he felt for her. Those memories lingered in the back of his head like an annoying itch that would never go away. It was something that was engraved within him. This love flowed through his blood. He looked at her, wondering why she was here but no he wouldn't ask just yet. First they had to settle this whole Kagome topic that Kikyou had brought about. That surely was a nice way to be greeted after you had unwillingly fallen from a tree and hit your head. Things didn't always go as planned. You just had to accept the cards that were dealed to you in life and use what you had to overcome.

It was strange, how bad she wanted to be with him, and yet she couldn't even utter a kind word to him. What had happened to her warm smile, and the soft whisper of a hello? She sighed heavily, and looked away letting her gaze fall out towards the river. If only she could've seen that it wasn't Inuyasha that day, Or known sooner she wouldn't harbor such hard feelings. She did infact put up a wall, So high that she feared no one would ever be able to tear it down again... but that's not what she wanted.
When he spoke, she looked back at him and for an instant she felt as if she'd smile, but didn't. Though a certain spark seemed to light in her eye's, He didn't slip and he didn't proclaim his love for Kagome, and for once she felt happy to know that he didn't want to claim her as his own. Kikyo worked in strange way's, but still, she loved him and only wanted to know if he loved her too.
"I see.." It was all she could utter, it was in a much softer tone then she had been using. If only she could reach over and just touch him, He would probably just shrug away from her cold skin. She crumpled up her fist in her lap, as she stared down at it. Damn that Naraku... He ruined everything.
She let a soft sigh escape her lips, and her eye's once again found Inuyasha "Is your head alright?" she changed the subject, hoping for a sort of fresh start.

InuYasha seemed to have tried to study her but it was something hard to figure out. Kikyou really was one of a kind and so was he. Back then they were totally different and he had still wanted the jewel to become a full demon. Why? So everyone would fear him, so he could get away with what he wanted. Mostly because he had always been made fun of and rejected from the world as a small child.
He couldn't change what he was and that in itself hurt him sometimes. Though now he had found a group of people who accepted him for who he was. He had met a couple more hanyou here and there and could easily relate with how they felt about themselves and the world around them.
His head, Kikyou was asking about his head. He looked at her confused for a moment. Did she really think like a fall like that could hurt him? He was InuYasha of course. Well it hurt but he wouldn't say that aloud. Soon enough, his attitude got the better of him and he was that same stubborn little hanyou Kikyou had met over 50 years ago.
"Feh," he muttered. "As if that could hurt me!"

Kikyo still had the sweet memories of their past, A gift she had been granted when part of her soul was released from that Kagome. She could remember Inuyasha watching over her as she did her daily chores, his Golden gaze remaining on her for day's on end. She could remember how Loving he had been, and yet she could still remember their hopes and dreams with the Shikon Jewel. He would've become a human and they would live their life together, yet fate once again had another plan.
Inuyasha, hadn't changed at all. He was still the same stubborn headed inu hanyau she'd met nearly 50 years ago. A small almost smile seemed to creep to her lips as he spoke, and slowly she shook her head. "You haven't changed at all.." she stated softly.

Was he honestly supposed to change? He wasn't sure. Though he hadn't been traveling with Kagome that long. That fifty years ago too, it had stopped him in time, not killing him and stopped his memory there. He could remember thinking that Kagome was Kikyou, unaware that fifity years had passed. As if she had just pinned him to the tree with her arrow and he hd woken up the next day. The thought almost haunted him that so much time could slip by. He turned his head and looked back at her from the corner of his eyes, his ears facing her direction too so he could listen better. "Like you've changed either," he said.

Time was a thief that had robbed them all, she'd prayed that when she'd died that the Shikon Jewel would be no more. As it was burned with her body, yet here they were searching for the fragments that so many demons currently searched for. That damned Naraku. If only she could destroy him, then perhaps she could find peace once again.
She slowly nodded her head when he spoke, and gave a soft sigh. Neither had changed, she was forever stuck in this form. Forever stuck with the last dying memories and her love for this Inuyasha. How her dead heart still yearned for him just like it did 50 years ago.
Slowly she let another sigh pass her lips as she gazed out at the river, It's water's churned and rammed against rocks and the shore. It's sound peaceful and calming to the mind. Off in the distance her little soul keepers floated their way, the two each carrying a soul for her. Her gaze seemed to narrow, as they dropped the soul's off and they flowed into her chest. Slowly as they fluttered off one more, she turned to gaze at Inuyasha.
"Do you ever wonder what would've happened to us If Naraku never came into the picture?" she asked softly.

He stopped breathing for a second when she had questioned him with such a smile, and yet complex question. Did he ever wonder? It took him a second to think about it. He'd never had much time to think about Kikyou lately because he was always on the run, always off with Kagome. Their realtionship had grown stronger and yet he and Kikyou had this bond that could never be broken no matter what happened. They should have never fallen in love but fate had drawn them together.
Life with Kikyou... he would have never met Miroku, Kagome, Sango, Shippou, or Kirara. He may have still had the Tetsusaiga if Sesshoumaru had attacked him, but if he were a human with Kikyou, Sesshoumaru would have killed him and Tetsusaiga would have never worked for him. So what would have been the point in having the sword anyway. So much would have been diffrent. Turning back to look at Kikyou again, he smiled somewhat at her.
"Sometimes," he replied to her, his voice still a bit unsure. "What do you think would have happen though? I'd be some old wrinkly human right now like that old hag, Kaede." He liked to make fun of that old woman.

When one is alone you have lot's of time to ponder everything you did while you were alive. Every little thing she did had been looked at, and so many different outlooks always played in her head. If only she'd been more aware, more prepared for another demon to attack. If only she could've died knowing it wasn't her Inuyasha that had killed her, but Naraku.
As he spoke once more, she nodded her head. It wasn't hard to know how busy he was, how wrapped up in things with Kagome and the other's. If that Kagome wasn't in the picture, she would have loved to travel with them, help them in defeating that Damned Naraku. but once again fate had a different plan for them..
She chuckled softly, and for once in the longest time it was a real laugh. It almost felt like an out of body experience, but she continued "I've wondered about what could've been." she stated softly before continuing "I would've been able to have a normal life, with you by my side and maybe even had a child.." she stated softly. If only Naraku hadn't come around, they could've been happy, married and maybe even have a child or two.
Though she knew how badly he wanted to become Full Demon so he could keep his Tetsuagia. Though she didn't care for the bloody thing. If she could just once again destroy the Shikon Jewel, maybe then everything could become peaceful again.

A child huh? That was one thing that he had never really thought of. Well maybe he had fifty years ago but those memories were slowly fading from his mind. It was sometimes hard to hold onto them because he made new memories everyday.
"Children," he asked her.
Then again InuYasha never saw himself as the parenting type. Yet, when you stacked it all together, he may have made a somewhat decent father. He was caring, kind, protective, and much more when he did let his guard down around someone like Kikyou back then. Yet, his only defults would have been his stubbroness, yelling, and hitting. Everyone saw how he treated Shippou but that kid was annoying anyway. Then he'd hit many other children and thrown them around before. Maybe he was to violent to be a father?
Then his mind dirfted off to something else as he gazed upon the priestess.
"Kikyou, why don't you travel with us," he asked.
He'd offered her the chance many times but knew that Kagome was the reason she didn't. He knew that Kikyou had always wanted to do things by herself because she and Kagome shared the same soul, just two different bodies, and maybe even two different personalities. Yet sharing this soul, was the reason why he had grown so protective of them both, why he had fallen for them both, why he had once hated both of them at some point in time.
