Preparation? What did that mean? She had caught him something edible, what more was there to it?
Oh, right. Humans liked to cook their food. She had not really seen other youkai cook. Probably because they rarely ate, their hunger not needing to be sustained as often. Kyr usually just ate her catches raw, it was easier, and in her opinion tasted better, that way. Though, it was messy.
She paid the human little attention, fixing her eyes on everything else except for him. She just did not feel like chancing it. She looked around for things to be used in a fire. Bamboo could be burnt, right? And then there were some dry grasses around. The problem was...
"I don't know how to start a fire," she said matter-of-factually, looking at the rabbit in her hand.

Takuya laughed. He said "You're joking right?!" After seeing that she was completely serious he said "Bring me something that can be burned and two sticks." Before she left he cut a strip off of the bottom of his pants leg. He handed it to her and said "Here. To replace the blindfold I cut." He then shooed her off saying "Those items won't find themselves." As she went searching Takuya skinned the the rabbit, separating the pink and bloody meat from the fur.

How amusing. The human was giving her commands. Oh well, as long as it kept her entertained.
She accepted the makeshift blindfold silently, though she did not put it on right away. At the moment, she was familiar with her surroundings as she could easily observe everything. If she switched back to being blind, she would probably lose her sense of direction, get lost, and not be able to find her way back.
She unsheathed one of her knives and went off to gather some grasses. She also swiftly cut down one of the bamboo trees, slicing it up into smaller pieces.
Kyr returned with the required items and dropped them in front of the human. Once she did so, she tied the scrap of fabric around her eyes, feeling better as she slowly readjusted to the darkness. Too bad it smelt like human.

Takuya smiled as Kyr returned. He was beginning to enjoy her company, though she couldn't tell as she was now blindfolded. At least, he hoped she couldn't tell. Takuya then set the grass and a little bit of bamboo in a pile. Setting a stick into the pile he rubbed it with the other stick. Soon after that, a spark was created and the pile of scraps was set ablaze. Skewering the rabbit on a stick of bamboo, Takuya placed it over the fire and begin to roast it. 20 minutes later, the rabbit was finished. Takuya picked up the stick and began tearing into the meat with the intensity of a ferocious beast. It was the first food he'd eaten in about a day now. Maybe more, he'd lost track of time awhile ago.

Kyr listened to him move about and prepare his food. Her nose told her that he had successfully made a fire. How, exactly, she did not want to know, however curious she was. She had gotten along fine without the use of building a campfire, so she doubted she would ever need such a useless skill. Useless to her, at least.
"What's your purpose?" Kyr asked, not really bothering to rephrase her question to make better sense. She wanted to know why this human was out here, starved, and bold enough to attempt to steal from a youkai. She knew that he was probably not looking for "his brother in a village nearby."
That reminded her. Her coins were scattered around, now. Oh well. It did not matter. She had no need for it anyway, so it would probably end up in the ground, eventually, forgotten and wasted. At least her pockets were empty.

Takuya looked up from the bones of the rabbit. He laughed and said "You're all about business huh?" Looking up at the sky, Takuya replied "I'm out here because I've got no where else to go. I'm a wanderer and sometimes that means doing whatever you have to in order to survive. If that means stealing for a youkai then so be it." He laid back on the ground and closed his eyes, enjoying the the weather. He opened an eye and said "Why're you here?"

This human was too relaxed. Not at all what she was used to. She, herself, only had the illusion that she was relaxed. Really, she was alert and ready, but her posture conveyed nothing of her true intent, which was probably why she was such a formidable opponent to most and almost always threw them offguard.
"I'm just looking for jobs to do," Kyr replied, sounding as bored as ever. Since she was a mercenary, she usually traveled from place to place in search of work. Any task that would occupy her time was fine with her, whether it was a simple errand or an assassination.

Takuya smiled and said "I do a little bit of that too. I'm more of an odd jobs kinda guy. Any job, big or small, I'll do." He then picked up a stick and began to poke it into the fire out of boredom. After a short while Takuya looked up at Kyr and asked "Why haven't you tried to kill me yet?" He pointed to his weapon a distance away and said "Its pretty far away, with your speed you could have finished me by now. I'm surprised you haven't at least thought about it."

"I see no purpose in taking your life," Kyr said. She just had no reason to fight, so she just did not fight. That was the way she thought, it was her philosophy. Everything she did would ultimately benefit her in some way. The answer was simple, to her, at least.
"Why is it that you seem so ready to accept death?" she asked.
She had never really sat down and conversed with a human before. In fact, she had never really sat down and conversed with any youkai, for that matter. This was something different for her, and something very interesting.

Takuya non-nonchalantly said "Its because I've seen so much death already. Nothing phases me anymore." He then laid back and said "I've seen my parents murdered in cold blood so I understand that death is just something you have to except. I've got nobody waiting anywhere for me. Nobody really cares if I live or die." Takuya thought to himself It feels weird just telling her about my history. He shrugged it off though. He could be very open when he felt like it. He looked at Kyr and said "Surely if you were in a position to die you'd accept it. Wouldn't you?"

If she were in the position of dying? First of all, she could not see herself in any situation where she would be close to death. Such an odd predicament that would be. And what an interesting scenario.
"There is no benefit in my dying, so no," she said. She really could not come up with a good reason that made sense to her. Everything had to benefit her in some way, otherwise those actions would be pointless. So how would accepting death help her at all? There was nothing, for death meant no longer existing. And she could not do anything if she no longer existed.

Takuya chuckled at her statement. He replied "I highly doubt that dying "Benefits" anybody. But it happens just the same." He then stood up and grabbed his sheathed swords. Tucking them into his belt he said "I guess its time I get to wandering." Looking back at Kyr he asked "So, where is it you'll be going now, Kyr?" He stood waiting patiently for the answer. As he waited he wondered if she'd ever spent this much time with a human before. The sun was slowly setting and it filled the sky with beautiful hues of red and yellow.

Sure. Death happens. Just not to her. She knew when she was outmatched so she would know when to back down from any confrontation. There was no sense in continuing anything that she would end up losing. She stood when he did, listening to his movements.
"I go wherever there is work to be done," she said. She tilted her head slightly, "I do expect to be re-payed," she commented, referring to her services as hunter and gatherer. Exchanging each others company and petty words and a scrap of fabric was not equal payment.

Takuya looked back at Kyr and smiled. He replied "Oh, now I remember. What could I possibly have to offer you? As you already know, I have no money and no idea when or where my next job will be." He stretched and looked up at the sky. The light was fading fast and he knew it would be much harder to follow the path in the dark. Looking back at Kyr he said "The only thing I can offer you is myself."

She thought it over. She had worked for humans before, but never with them. In fact, she had never worked with anyone. She preferred doing things on her own. More benefits, as she saw it; the pros of working alone outweighed the cons. But, it was an interesting idea.
"You're welcome to travel with me until your debt is re-payed," she suggested, "If not, then I'm sure we'll cross paths again." If they had met once, then they would most likely meet again. But, then again, Kyr just might forget who he was, or at least not recognize him right away. She did not care what decision was made, either way.
