InuYasha scoffed and put away the Tetsusaiga at Sango's little speech that she'd given him. He wouldn't be much of one to normally listen to this but something in the back of his head told him he'd have to face the wrath of someone. Not Kagome, but maybe his father. What sort of impression would he be leaving being a prince that tried to kill the new lord of the north. How lovely. "Whatever. Just shut up, Sango. I'm done talking about this," he growled back at her, shifting his gaze away and towards a wall.

Shoju saw that Inuyasha had backed off thanks to Sango so he turned his attention once again to Sango, even if Junzo had his eyes trained on the Hanyou, ready to cast another spell on Inuyasha if he made another threatening move against his lord, and this time the spell would be a lot more painful and deadly. But Junzo was loyal to his lord and thus would not make a move without provocation, so he held his hand.
Shoju on the other hand began to speak, "Sango, when I look upon your village I see a fire that has been douse with water, but though the fire has died embers remain. With enough care and effort those embers can burn once again and your village can once more be a light against the darkness. I believe you are such an ember Sango. And if you wish it I am willing to give you a family within my clan, minor at first but may grow into a great family in time, and answerable to me alone. That is my offer to you. My only demand is that you take up a mask like all Bayushi, and wear it in public. I will provide you legal traveling papers to aid you in your travels."
Once he had said that he turned his attention to Inuyasha again and felt it would be best to better illustrate his position to the half-breed. "Tell me Inuyasha, just how far are you willing to travel, with but a word I can have the shard sent to the Three Kingdoms in China, Korea, Mongolia, or perhaps along the silk highway even further west. Do not presume to think you could find something if the Lord of Shadows wishes it lost. If you want it, you need but to ask, properly. And to show me the respect my station is due." His eyes bore into Inuyasha, and he would broke no negotiation on this, not after the disrespect he had already shown him.

His ears flickered he listened to this guy talk to Sango. In his mind it seemed like this Bayushi guy was asking to much for his own good. The inu hanyou didn't like the feeling that he got off from it either. Sango wear a mask all the time besides that of the demon slayer? He couldn't see it happening. He wouldn't believe it if she took on the offer. Of course though, he was sure Miroku would follow. Then of course, Kagome would come along and say they had to follow Sango's wishes or something really stupid like that. It was always the case and what he was against.
He then listened in silence as this Bayushi guy had said that he could have the jewel shard sent off somewhere else. His arms were now crossed over his chest and he looked back at the lord from the corner of his eyes. "Exactly just what is it that you want from me? No one would hand over a jewel shard just because you ask nicely. I've already tried it before. There's always twist," he said. His voice held his annoyance and the suspicion but he tried not to sound rude as hard as that was. He'd asked Kikyou for her shards of the jewel before with no luck in getting them. Same with Kagome.
'This guy is nothing but a human that thinks he's all that. He's lost his mind if he thinks I'd ever bow down to anyone,' he thought to himself. Maybe if he hadn't had such a hard life as a hanyou growing up, he would have been more respectful. Though, no one ever treated him with that respect or kindness so he'd fed of the hate and anger of those that wanted him gone from the world. It was only natural for InuYasha to now put up barriers and be cautious of many things. He eyed Shoju carefully, waiting to hear just what he'd had to say about that.

Sango heard the Lords words and began a heisitant nod. A mask? Why..And I do wish for my home to be a new. And I ask, Who would be in this family? Sango asked carefully. SHe did not finish her nod. Careful not to act to fast.

A sly smile appeared on Shoju's face at Sango's question, it was a good question and given the value that the Bayushi placed upon deductive skills and logic, it made her a valuable ally to have. On the other hand, Inuyasha would likely have been a sacrificial pawn in any other situation, in this one though, he had the distinct displease of having to deal with the hanyou, regardless of how brutish he was.
Shoju spoke in a clear and confident voice, and there was a hint of pride in what he was saying, "Well Sango, the mask is to honor Bayushi himself. He was the son of Amaterasu herself and served as her shadow till he fell to earth in battle with He who is not to be Named. He founded our clan after the Emperor asked him to Watch from the shadows from those who would strike from them, and we have, for a thousand years. And as for who would be in your family, once you choose a name for your family it would be up to you to decide who would be in it. Beyond your living relatives that is. It will be entirely up to you."
Once he finished saying that he turned to Inuyasha again, intentionally addressing him second as a snub and insult. taking a deep breath he gestured to his surroundings and said, "This is my palace Inuyasha, and I am the lord here, you have shown me great disrespect and while originally I had only wanted the information you had regarding Naraku and your intentions. But your behavior caused me to add that last requirement to force you to show me the respect I deserve for my posistion. I want you to kneel before me and ask."

The inu hanyou looked back at Sango as the Bayushi guy talked about the whole mask thing. He still didn't like the idea of it and was sure that eh never would. Why should Sango have to hide behind a mask? She was a free strong woman that was able to stand up for herself in a time like this. So there was really just not point for her to take on the offer in his eyes. It was almost disturbing, the thought. Knowing that his friends would go with Sango...he would be a lone again. All alone.
He shook the thought from his mind as he looked back Shoju again. "I owe you nothing else. Sango's already told you about Naraku and I told you I will become a full fledged demon with the Shikon Jewel," he spat back at him venomously. "I don't kneel or bow down to anyone, not even my own father." It was true and yet a shock all at the same time that InuYasha would bring his father into the picture. He had a great respect for his father but would never go as low as to kneel to him.
InuYasha finally turned to face Shoju again, looking him square in the eye. "I don't think you can randomly come out of no where and claim a land as your own too. I really don't believe it if you're just going to use that title or whatever to demand people to be your slaves. It's wrong," he stated. His voice was a bit more calm now because he was serious about the strong belief that he had in his words. How'd it come to this in the first place? All he wanted was a jewel shard.

Sango looked at The Lord and nodded her head I can not promise I shall wear it all of the time, for I will need my gas mask on. But If I re-paint my gas mask, to your colors. Would that suffice? She didn't nessicarly want to wear the mask, and could see Inuyasha did not want to a good Dog and take what he needed to and deal with it. Sango glared at Inuyasha Inuyasha! Do you really want to get hurt?

The inu hanyou shifted his gaze back to Sango for a moment. Maybe she really was getting some sort of brain back in her head again. That was a relief. A slight smirk crossed his face as he words though. "What are you gonna do, Sango," he asked her in a teasing voice. "Hit me with your huge boomerang?" He knew that Sango knew better than to fight them. It would just make both of them look stupid in front of this guy. There would be no point in it anyway. It wasn't like he was attacking the Bayushi again... for now.

Shoju shifted his eyes as a shadow coalested behind Inuyasha, first into the over all shape of a human then into a shape they knew well, Shosuro Anko was now standing in an alcove behind Inuyasha. He waved his hand and she that held her blade, not that she would ever actually use it, but she was prepared to do so if she needed to. "Inuyasha I have the right of my armies, the same way your father consolidated his rule over the Western Lands. And as for slavery, I will never have it in my lands for I view slavery as an abomination to the celestial order. No human may own any other, as we all have our parts to play in this world and Slavery denies another his part. Its a sin I will never allow within my sight. but, never let it be said I am unwilling to forgive and compromise in order to achieve results. You do not need to kneel or bend knee, just ask, that's it. Can you swallow your ego enough to get what you want?"
After he said that he turned back to Sango and said, "A mask is a private affair and is chosen by the wearer, or if they are just coming of age, then by the parents. But given that is not the case here, you chose your own mask. Joining the clan is also a reason to celebrate, and we take our celebrations quite seriously, after all it is not a celebration till some one has passed out drunk." As he spoke the woman at his side had a small smile on her face, whether it was genuine or false was unclear, but it appeared that the young woman was remembering a fond memory.

Sango looked at him then nodded Then I accept. Inuyasha. For your sake, and everyone else's Just Do it! Baka!! Sango hit him with her boomarg softly. I'd be careful Inuyasha, for I don't want to see you get stabbed in the back. Sango took note of Anko behined the Inu. And, you M'lord, should be wise, and not ahrm the prince of the Great Inutoshio's lands and his son. But make allies with him and the New Lord of the East. Sango advised him. It was funny, a demon, a human and a hanyou were all now lords of a land, all they needed now was a spirt or somthing to take the last land and it could be said the land which they lied was diverse.

The inu hanyou was very aware now that Anko was behind him. She was close enough this time for him to just feel her presence, to where he didn't need a sense of smell to locate her. He glanced back over his shoulder for a second to look at the sword. Nothing compared to his great Tetsusaiga. He had no doubt in that thought. Very few swords could rival the Tetsusaiga which had become stronger since he'd gotten the blade from his father. He'd made it into a piece of art work. A legend to be told.
He listened to Sango's words with little interest now. He'd yet to hear of this new lord of the east and that would be something to talk about later on. At a normal pace, he walked away from Anko and up to Shoju Bayushi. Now he was only about three to five feet away, not caring what his two little guards of whatever they were thought of him. He didn't pull out his blade and was shown as no threat to this guy right now. InuYasha looked him dead in the eye this time as he spoke.
"I'm not being nice for your sake but for someone else," he said. Kikyou was on his mind at the time. He could recall their time back at the pond and what they had said to each other about the Shikon no Tama and Naraku. It was a duel now to some extent that only he and Kikyou could battle out against each other. "May I have the jewel shard, please," he finally asked which was very unlike him in the first place. "If you want to learn more about Naraku, then seek out the priestess Kikyou. She'll tell you what you really want to know."

He smiled as Inuyasha formally asked for the shard, as Shoju had gotten what he wanted, even if Inuyasha never realized what it was or why it was important. He then turned to the woman at his side and said, "Kachiko my dear, you may gift him the jewel shard now."
The woman, Kachiko nodded in acceptance and said, "Of coarse dear husband." After she said that she reached int her robes at the breast region and pulled out the jewel shard, which was now hanging off of a sting, clearly he woman had been wearing it as a necklace this whole time, hiding it in plain sight in the one place even Inuyasha was to civilized to search at first glance. She held out her hand, the shikon jewel in her hand now and said, "As you requested, here you are, Inuyasha of the Western Lands." Her words were like honey and as smooth as silk. She then moved closer to Inuyasha, so that they were nearly touching and whispered in his ear, "While he would never lower himself to say it, he would appreciate it greatly if you brought him Naraku's severed head on a platter." After she said that and placed the Jewel in Inuyasha's hand she backed off and took her place at her husband's side once again.
While this occurred Shoju addressed Sango and said, "Rebuilding efforts have already begun at your village, and a monument is being erected to honor those who fell. I thought you would like to know that. The graves will not be disturbed, for they have joined the honored dead, and it is their hands that guide us today."

Sango saw that the lady who stood beside the Lord was infact his Wife and she'd been holding the Jewel shard infront of their very eyes, she smiled at the woman, but her attention was caught by the Lord, a feeling of gratitude sweeled within her chest. Arigato Lord Bayushi Shoju. That means so very much to me. She thanked him, giving a low bow to him. Her villige would once more see the light of day. New Demon slayers would come into play, And she'd be the reason why, she thought that it would never happen. But she, made it happen.

InuYasha blinked when Kachiko had given him the jewel shard just like that. Well first he would have never expected it to be there. Second. she'd handed it over just so simply. The iny hanyou decided not to question it. Though this really was the most easy jewel shard for them to ever get. No fights or anything. Well that was besides the fight he'd tried to start earlier. He was a bit confused as to what she had said about the lord wanting Naraku's head. He jumped back, landing beside Sango and putting away the shard.
"Why is it that you're asking so much about Naraku anyway," he finally asked the lord. He knew that had to be the missing piece to the puzzle that he was missing. if this guy wanted Naraku, then why not keep the jewel shard for himself to lure the demon in? InuYasha wasn't sure but it was obvious that he really wanted to know now. He kept his gaze focused on Shoju for a moment before looking back down at the jewel shard. 'Kikyou... what is this all going to come to in the end... over this?' He wouldn't tell Kagome about this shard.
