The wind sighed and ruffled the brown locks of the Elf Demon. Her eyes were focused on the water, however, her fingers trailing lightly in the water. Ivy watched, a smile about her lips, as the water rippled. Water fascinated her but her abilities were with emotions not the elements. She herself gave a slight sigh, watching the fish swirl around her twirling fingers. It wasn't easy getting them to come; normal fish had minuscule emotional capacities and Ivy's powers weren't that strong. In a way, this was good practice for her.
She glanced up from the fish for a moment, imagining she heard a sound. Ha, I must be hearing things, she chided herself mentally. She chalked it up to either her over-active imagination or her hearing reaching out miles away. Both were always possibilities. She shook her head and looked back to the fish, her face falling as they scattered. So much for her empath abilities. She leaned back and frowned, looking up at the sky, musing to herself how she got to be at the small pond.
She hadn't meant to, but she got in a fight with a low-level youkai. She had been careless and wound up injured. Rory had come when she killed the youkai and led her to this place and, somehow, tended to her wounds. She wasn't certain how, but after a few days she was well. Rory was either very smart or found a nice person to heal her while she was unconscious. Either way, she was here and she was well. She sighed, blowing a strand of hair from her eyes thoughtfully, twitching once as she heard something. Just in my head, she repeated mentally.

Oh there was so much going on in her life right now. There was her brother being the Lord of the East. Her father was still trying to kill the Lord of the North. She hadn't seen Suichi Minamino in a while either. Though he'd only helped her but there was still that strange feeling of her knowing that he wasn't truly a human. Of course she couldn't forget Oriel and Maikeru helping her train now. Somehow she had to get better than Shadow and that was just through hardcore training. It wad how he'd done it.
So today would the the day that she would find some time to rest. She wouldn't fight or do anything else. Well that was what she hoped at least. The pond was the perfect place to come to relax. A smile crossed her pale features at the thought. Maybe she could go fishing or something of that sort. Fishing was never that bad, was it? Well that really depended on the person that was trying it. Some found it to be as easy as slaying a weak demon while others found it a rather difficult task with their own hands.
Raveik landed gracefully in a tree but the shake of the branches gave her away to anyone near by. She hadn't quite perfected her landing yet. Her teal gaze caught sight of Ivy and she jumped back down, and landed a couple of yards away from the girl. She was sure to keep her distance incase an attack would come back out on her. "You look a bit lost. Do you need any help?" How funny it was for a hanyou to offer help to a full demon. Rave had never allowed that to divide her and other races though.

Okay, so chalking it up to hearing and imagination hadn't been that great of an idea. Nor had ignoring the voice. Ivy, however, opted for remaining calm. Any other elf demon would have pulled out their powers and used them against the intruder. With a sigh, the brunette turned slowly, thoughtfully almost, to face the person who had arrived on scene. This was awkward. In Ivy's mind, anyway. She would have loved to analyze the girl before her but her powers were waning with her slow regain of strength.
Although Rory healed her, he was only a fox squirrel. That was the other reason Ivy hadn't attacked. Her strength was still at nil even though it seemed quite the opposite. With slow and careful movements, Ivy stood and brushed off her knees, tilting her head to the side to observe the new comer. She didn't look ready for a fight, she just looked... Tired. Yes, tired seemed to fit exactly. Although Ivy couldn't be sure, the other seemed under stress.
With a light, forced laugh, Ivy answered, "I'm just... Bewildered." Well, not exactly, she amended mentally. She was slightly annoyed; she just wanted to recover. This... This... A hanyou?! What was a hanyou doing even relatively close to a youkai? She was very bold, that much Ivy knew. She immediately tensed; she didn't like hanyou and they didn't like her. Generally. "And what, may I ask, are you doing here?" she smiled tensely.

Bewildered. Well maybe that could sum up something for her. Though right now she could feel the tension rising in the air more than anything. To be honest, she was quite surprised that the girl hadn't attacked her yet. Normally any demon would have turned and kill her because she was only a half demon. Though it wasn't like she had chosen to be this way. It was just the way that she was born so she had no choice in any of it. The same had gone for her brother Shadow. It was just all in fate.
Her black and red ears flickered up when the elf youkai had asked her a question. That was also something that she wasn't used to as well. As long as this demon didn't threaten her in anyway, she was sure that they would be fine. She wouldn't show any fear because she wasn't afraid right now. Instead, she had courage and found herself taking a couple of steps forward. It made her feel as if she could connect with someone better. When they could be on the same level and not put barriers up around them.
"I'm just here taking a break from well... life," she said with a slight laugh. Yes, life sounded right to the way that she felt. "Coming here has always been so refreshing for me." She stopped now, only maybe two or three yard away from Ivy. "What about you?" It was only fair that she had the right to ask right back, correct? She didn't see any harm in it for right now. So that was all fine and dandy in her mind. Raveik smiled, trying to maybe show a sign of friendship to the demon before her.

Ivy cursed mentally; she shouldn't have asked such an idiotic question! If she was being honest, which honestly there was no chance of, she would be admitting she got her ass handed to her by a low-level demon that should have been a piece of cake for even a mortal. That's what she got for being cocky, however. She exhaled slowly, blowing a strand of hair from her eyes; it was such a pain. 'It' being her hair. Lying was somewhat a pain but no so much as she couldn't tolerate herself. She enjoyed lying most days.
Tilting her head to the side, Ivy continued musing her answer, ticking off seconds in her head. She had to make it seem like she was telling at least some truth even though she wasn't. It was a skill Ivy honed over the years. Only a fellow Empath could tell her lies from truth and even then, her amateur Empath abilities could make her lie truth. She folded her arms across her chest. Yes, she was tense, yes she felt defensive. She would make it known that she didn't like her life being pried into, even if it was through subtleties.
"Me?" she asked, her voice light and airy. Friendliness would be good to show, even if it was underlined with tenseness. "Oh, you know... This and that. I'm just relaxing too." She smiled, attempting to be friendly. She wasn't good at that sort of thing because she wasn't used to hanyou, youkai, or mortals. She hoped dearly that she came across as friendly.

Being one to trust easily, Raveik ended up falling for Ivy's trick. She did find that just replying was friendly enough. she figured that the elf demon was just tense because maybe she didn't know how to react to the inu hanyou. It wouldn't be the first time so she didn't mind it at all. Her tail swayed back in forth in happiness and approval all at the same time. She held a bright excited look in her eyes and finally she ended up lowering her guard. She needed to learn not to trust this way.
"Well maybe we can hang out together then," she happily gesterred. "Have you ever tried fishing around here? It's so much fun!" Her teal orbs then flashed back to the water. It smelled of nothing but water creatures and that was good enough for her. Though she could somewhat sense that there may have been some demons in the water. They didn't feel stronger enough to her to be that concerned about. Most of the demons and everyone else these days were very weak. Maybe it was that whole humans were taking over the world sort of thing.
She then shifted her gaze back to Ivy again and smiled. "I'm sorry! I'm Raveik Revirra but 'Rave' is fine if you like." She normally introduced herself first. So she was a bit shocked that she hadn't done so already. The inu hanyou bent over slightly and scooped up a flat around rock into her hand. With ease, she threw it back at the water and watched it skip along. It was something that her grandmother had taught her to do and normally she found it rather amusing. Something to do with her own free time every now and then.

Ivy was proud; that had been one of her more... Crappy lies. Usually, she had to express the emotion she was claiming tenfold but with the girl... Rave, she said, it was simple. It was nice, too, not having to try. She faked a smile when Rave introduced herself, skipping a rock. And then she blinked. Fishing. In a pond that was filled with demons. Fish were there too but demons... Unintentionally, Ivy's hand drifted to her side where she had wrapped fresh bandages.
Sheepishly, Ivy answered Rave, "I'm no good at fishing, I'm truly no good." She laughed thoughtfully, hoping to change the other girl's mind. Fishing just wasn't... Well, it wasn't a good idea nor was it the Elf demon's forte. Her forte was more in speed-based activities. Fishing required patience and well-being. None of which she had. She placed her other hand on her other hip to make her body look even. She tilted her head to the side, taking a breath to speak with. "I'm Ivy," she murmured, "just... Just Ivy."
How she could lie about her name, she didn't really even know, just that she could. Ivy Zen McZenna. Well, she left out her middle and last name but it wasn't really lying then, was it? It just wasn't giving out all the facts. Well, screw the facts. She sighed, taking her gaze from the pond to Rave. She seemed nice enough, but was she really? She could try to tell by using Empathy but... It didn't seem worth it. Rave was probably just one of those people that let their guards down because they were too trusting. Still, Ivy wouldn't put it past the other to be ready to attack at any given time.
"Yeah," she laughed sheepishly again, "I definitely cannot fish at all!" She winced mentally. She'd already said that.

The same time that her ear had flickered, she turned to look back at Ivy. Her gaze held a bit of disappointment that the other didn't seem to thrilled about fishing. That was fine though. She really shouldn't have been asking a stranger to do something with her anyway. Well then again, was she really a stranger? They both now knew each others names so that put them on a new level, right? That was what Raveik wanted to believe but she wouldn't say much about it. There was no need to because she was sure that Ivy wouldn't want to ear her ramble.
With a small smile painted on her features, she spoke. "That's fine. It's nice to meet you though, Ivy." She always used someone's name after it was given to her. That way she was sure that they would know that she listened even if it almost seemed like she was always sidetracked by the rest of the world. A gentle breeze came to play with her hair and she gladly welcomed it. Nature was something that she had learned to love growing up thanks to her grandmother. She really couldn't say the same for her brother Shadow. Yet, they both loved this very era.
"You have a beautiful name." Here in Japan she didn't see the ivy plants but but anywhere in the east. In the modern era that she had grown up in though, it was much more common. People there had those ways of transporting and trading things quickly. They had their planes, cars, and boats that destroyed the environment that she loved so dearly. Maybe that was why she loved this place more then the other. Here she could find peace in the world and connect with the environment. Yet, at the same time she'd destroyed it in the future as well. It never seemed that fair,

A compliment on her name was not at all what Ivy had been expecting. As such, the blush that covered her face couldn't be repressed. She covered her face in shame and embarrassment, not daring to look at Raveik. She couldn't. No one had complimented her like that before. Well, aside from her late fiance but that was it. Shyly, the still blushing Elf Demon peeked at the other girl.
"You really think my name is pretty, Raveik?" she whispered hesitantly. She wanted to believe it, really she did, but she found it hard to accept all the things people said to her that were polite. Since she lied excessively, she expected other people to be the same, even if they showed her differently. Ivy kept her face covered. She didn't want to let on that she was embarrassed because that would have been even more embarrassing.
Folding her hands across her chest, Ivy jerked her head to the side to stare at the pond. It still irked the young Demon that their were weak demons in their that could beat her up. In some ways, she really was still young. She sighed and peeked at Rave, finding herself wondering what went through her mind.

To be honest she couldn't understand why Ivy would turn around and just get shy about a compliment on her name. Didn't people always give out compliments like that? Back in her era they did. Though sometimes she just seemed to forget that this was the past and that others weren't normally as friendly. No, they were all supposed to be set against each other in a war of survival that dished out blood. She tilted her head slightly to the side at the thought. Ivy wasn't like these other humans, demons, and hanyou that she'd encountered once before.
"Well of course"" Raveik happily replied. "Why wouldn't I?" That was just something that she had to know. Maybe she could even learn something else about Ivy off her response. There were always ways to read people. Though that didn't mean that your reading was always correct. Who would say that she would still know this demon ten years down the road? So would it really matter how she had taken things herself? Raveik wasn't sure at all but she knew that it shouldn't have been a concern in the first place. Life was to short for something like that.
