That look. He'd seen that blank look before. It sent a shiver down his spine. Oh why did she have to be like this right now? Why did it all have to come to this. Those he reran her words through his head, trying to come up with something to say. He wanted to apologize but his pride got in the way. He had nothing to apologize for anyway! All he'd said was what he had though aloud by mistake. What was so wrong about that? "Never mind," he said to her, glancing around for a second then.
