The night was young for the sun had just set, bringing in the darkness. The full moon shined brightly above, almost providing the only light to the area. At least, that was what someone would believe if they hadn't see the stars around here. It was beautiful tonight, not a cloud in the sky and so clear. It felt like it hadn't been this way in ages. What a relief.
Revlis smiled to himself, although he was still on edge. It seemed like he was always like that during the night. He could see, hear, and smell fine so he never understood why. Maybe because he almost died during the night, because he was found at night, it could have been anything.
Shaking his head, he sighed softly. No need to think of such things at a time like this. There was no time for such silly things anyway. He glanced out of the window of his room here at the Tama Ryokan Inn. Such a nice place, he'd always loved staying here. Not really because of the hot springs but because he enjoyed the atmosphere of the area.

The air felt warm and smelt moist, damp. Kyr could tell that she had arrived at the hot springs without having to remove her blindfold. Only by pure luck did she make it to her destination. A map had been drawn for her, but she did not bother to even glance at it. Luckily, she did not need to find her way back to her most recent employer, having been paid in full, in advance. And the job was simple enough. Deliver a small package to the owner of the inn at the Tama Ryokan Springs.
She cautiously navigated past the steaming waters to the inn, pausing briefly to make sure she would not run into a door. She sniffed the air once she entered the inn, attempting to locate the innkeeper. Of course, since she did not know who they were, she gave up and made her way to the closest living creature that smelt of the inn staff.
"Are you the innkeeper?" Kyr asked in a bored tone.
"Yes? May I help you?" a male voice replied. She could hear the curiosity and slight fear in the man's voice. Apparently she was intimidating with her blindfold on. She did try her best to conceal the fact that she was youkai.
Kyr reached into her cloak and pulled out a small, crudely wrapped package and set it on the desk before the innkeeper. "This is for you," she said.
She heard the sound of the paper wrapping being torn open as she walked away, not caring to stick around to find out what was in the package. She decided to waste some time and wandered through the inn, wanting to familiarize herself with the interior.

That stench. There was no way that it could have just gone by him. He'd smelled it before it had even arrived in the inn. It was revolting and made him want to gag, but his mind wandered onto the topic, the owner of such a deadly smell. It was stronger now that it was inside and he could tell it was coming closer, but not at a quick pace. That confused him to some extent. Oh how it bothered him.
'I can't believe such a creature would step into this inn,' he thought to himself.
Of course he couldn't really say that much himself, being half youkai but that didn't matter. His village had a good relationship with the innkeepers here so he knew he was welcome. He'd always had been and hopefully always would be if he could stop himself from causing too much trouble. It was very tempting though, making his blood boil and rush quickly through his veins.
'I suppose it wouldn't do much harm to investigate,' he decided.
With that, he turned around and walked to the front of his inn room. He opened the door and stuck his head out into the hall way. Nothing was in sight yet but he knew where it was. He stepped out, shutting the door behind him quietly, not to disturb anyone else in the inn. Then he started to walk down the hall way, heading towards that stench.

Kyr's sensitive nose caught the scent of something very peculiar. Youkai AND human, mixed together. Not two separate beings but... There was a half-breed here?
Interesting.
And just when she thought she was going to have to wander around in boredom for a while longer before she found someone else to hire her. Though, she had plenty of coin to occupy herself with mundane expenditures for a while.
She continued her random expedition down the inn halls, ignoring the scent that smelt of dog - and hate - as she passed by the source. She wondered what this creature looked like, though she did not feel it worth enough to remove her blindfold. Perhaps later.

Others would have questioned his hate toward this youkai since he was raised by many of them in his village. At least, those whom found him were youkai, almost like him. Though he thought he had the best of both worlds sometimes, not. It depended on whom judged him.
When they passed, he felt like stopping her right there but he didn't have his weapons for a reason. Why did this youkai look so human? What was her motive? He needed to find out. He needed to make sure no one was in danger. That was just his way though.
He found the blindfold to be odd though. It wasn't like his red head band that he wore proudly with his village symbol on it. This was odd indeed. He paused for a second and watched her move on as if she hadn't even noticed him, as if she didn't care.
Revlis took no breath and stayed silent, and then he turned to follow her from a distance.

Kyr listened curiously to the soft heartbeat she heard behind her. This hanyou was good at treading silently, she had to admit. She wanted to know why he was following her. She could sense his curiosity, perhaps that was the reason: he was curious. Did he not see her kind very often? Did he mingle with the humans more? She wanted to know.
A human couple passed by her, absorbed in their meaningless cuddles and flirting. She ignored them, and they ignored her. She did not understand their odd gesturing. And they smelled like weakness. Why should such a being exist if they were good for nothing besides making money off of?
She paused when she reached an intersection in the hall. She turned her head slightly, facing her ear toward her stalker and waited.

He stopped the second she did, he'd been keeping a rhythm with her pace and wasn't about to break it. Though why had she stopped in the middle of the intersection? He wasn't sure but knew she was up to something, as he had always assumed with youkai his village weren't familiar with.
Revlis then decided that this was his chance to try and get more information on her again. He started walking, going by her again, holding his breath so he didn't have to take in her stench, it was like a toxin to him. That smell so horrible.
Nothing he hadn't noticed before. So he went left, still traveling away from his room too much, but it was needed.

Kyr followed the sound of the departing half-breed, feeling slightly disappointed. Was she really just going to wander around this inn, waiting for this hanyou to gather enough courage to talk to her ... or ambush her? Of course not. It would be more fun to provoke him. But, what could she do, before he got too far?
"Coward," she muttered, staying where she was.

Coward.
His ear twitched to the sound of the unfamiliar voice, but more of to the word. Coward. He'd heard that word before, and it being directed to him. This wasn't the first time and it surely won't be the last in his life time but still. Slowly, ever so slowly, he turned to look back at the woman that had called him a "coward."
"What'd you say," he hissed back at her.

She could hear the annoyance in his voice, and she found it mildly entertaining. She could also sense his hate. She leaned against the wall and titled her head slightly to the side, as if thinking about the hanyou's question.
She was starting to rethink her entertainment choice. It was really no fun when someone was so hateful. It was better when they are fearful or weak-minded, someone easier to manipulate and predict. This half-breed did not seem either of those... Perhaps she would leave and return to the innkeeper, to see if he had any jobs he wanted done. Oh, how bored she was.
"Just an observation," Kyr replied, her expression and voice emotionless. She decided to finish what she had started. No use in quiting now.

She was really starting to piss him off. Though that was his own fault for letting such stupid words get to him so easily. He was hot-headed, yes but sometimes he just couldn't help it. Quickly, the hanyou turned around, a growl rising in his throat. She was pushing him over the edge and he didn't like that very much.
One world have thought they were seeing things but he was back up in her face in a matter of seconds. Staring her down wouldn't work, but he was sure that she could sense his energy, this heart pumping blood through his body. He really needed a life sometimes.
"An observation," he questioned. "You're more of the coward here, afraid to say something to my face and not look me in the eye when you say it. Instead you hide behind that stupid blindfold of yours."

It was amusing as she listened to his pulse.
Was he trying to intimidate her? Never had she been intimidated by anything before, not even while she was a child. And never would she ever be intimidated by anyone.
"Would you say that if I told you I was blind?" she asked, still void of emotion, but attempting to sound sad, as if it were true. She sniffed and turned her face away from him, pretending to be offended by the hanyou's lack of tact and sensitivity for the 'handicapped.'

"Don't give me that bullshit," he snarled at her.
He knew better and knew that she knew better as well. This was a demon, he knew all the tricks of the book. Demons didn't take human forms just because they felt like it. There was always a reason behind something like this and he was determined to find out the truth
"What the hell are you doing here anyway," he asked. "You've recked since before you got here."

"I am just a courier, and now my job is done, so I wanted to explore this place. Am I not allowed to?" Kyr said.
Really, she felt that this inn was of no importance. But, just incase she had to return at a later time, she would be able to recognize her surroundings quickly, instead of getting lost and sidetracked... again.
This hanyou creature was easy to anger, she noticed. Did she want to taunt him more, or just leave once this encounter was over? Or maybe she should rent a room, just to get on his nerves some more. No... it was not worth it. She never enjoyed the places where humans mainly came. She would just leave. But, not now. Not while she was still occupied and entertained with the company of the half-breed.

She was a courier? He found that odd. Many demons weren't like that. Espically, why would someone hire a demon to deliver a message to a place full of humans. Everything about it was just wrong. Or, maybe he had been taught wrong growing up.
"Youkai have no business here," he venomously spat out at her. "This place is for humans, and I'm sure you know that."
Revlis was closer to humans in a way but found himself pulled toward both sides by blood, which he couldn't help. His purple-red orbs stayed locked on his target, even though he couldn't see her eyes, he would still keep focus as if he could.
