He'd noticed that glare that she returned to him. He didn't expect much less from Kikyou. It was funny how they were so much alike that besides the fact that were both outcasts drawn to each other, they also both attacked the same. Well, besides the fact that Kikyou was generally nicer than he was and had more patience then he did with many things. That was the difference that drew them together as well, if you believed in that opposites attract sort of thing. They were like north pole and south pole, meeting together in the equator.
When she had turned her wrist to grab his hand, at first her was a bit shocked, it obviously shown on his features. He wasn't sure if she would zap him then to make him cooperate with her or not. He couldn't be surprised if she did though. Kikyou was dirty like that so he watched her closely. Although, she did the exact opposite. Instead, the miko had allowed their fingers to intertwine with each other, becoming one just like they were already. A look of confusion and disbelief was then painted on his feature, he was clueless.
As she leaned into him, his heart began to race, pumping blood faster, which may have been good for him anyway since he was losing some. He stared at her, losing his breath for a second, and his gaze lost in her dark chocolate brown one. So beautiful. He couldn't help but become lovestruck. This miko had full control over him at any time, and he couldn't do anything but give into her at any point in time. It was like a curse, like those stupid prayer beads he had to wear now, although KIkyou had made them.
Then their lips had locked, and he felt the passion run through his veins. His heart skipped a beat, and he was shocked for a second until his own eyes closed. He kissed her back with a firey passion, not able to fight these human emotions, and espically his love. His mind was lost now, and he wasn't able to think. She'd messed up his whole thought pattern with a single kiss. It was almost as if she was trying to slay him like she would a demon from the inside out, their kiss so powerful between them.
Being so lost in it all, InuYasha hadn't even noticed that the miko had gone and used this trick just to heal his wounds. Well, it was true that the kiss was a bonus for the both of them. Healing his wounds was just something that needed to be done but the kiss wasn't as necessary. At least this options was better than her just turning around and frying him into a crisp so she could heal him. It was the nonviolent way to an extent because deep inside, he knew they couldn't be together forever anymore.

Two Polar Opposites so hopelessly in love, Yet it seemed no matter how true their love would ever be, they could never be together. If there was a way she could just wish her Body to be real, would that work? If she asked the Jewel to not bring her back to life, but make this hollow shell of a body real... Would it work? Would Inuyasha turn away from Kagome then and be with her? Could she truly break anothers heart, only for her selfish needs.
Kikyo could never allow herself to bring harm in any fashion to another soul. If the Jewel could make this body real, Kikyo would perhaps keep it only to herself. She would watch from the Shadows as Inuyasha led his life, that would only be right, Right? These thoughts often crept into her brain, yet she did her best to banish them.
Their kiss, ah what couldn't be said about it? The fire burning through her hollow body rushed through every inch of her. If she had a heart it would've skipped a beat, or jumped right out of her chest. It was tough to concentrate when his lips were against her own, and the healing took a bit longer then she would've liked. Yet, his wounds slowly faded from his side and her grip on his shirt loosened as she pulled away.
As much as she didn't want to, and pained her, she knew she would have to leave him soon. Even though she could just spend the night with him, slumber around the fire and just enjoy eachother's company, but she couldn't. Not with her stash of the Shards growing by each day. Demons would quickly hunt her down, and she'd seen Inuyasha hurt enough today. As she stared into his dark eyes, she couldn't help but to let a small smile etch itself upon her lips.
Love, it was always present in her eyes. From the moment she met him, she knew there would always be something. It was love. How could anyone deny it? She sighed softly, pulling her body away from his, and rested upon her legs. Her hand slowly slipped from his, and fell to her lap. Of course, the kiss was wonderful and she would love to be able to do it daily. Yet he was now healed, and she knew when he found out he would perhaps be angry with her...
A sadness slowly washed over the Miko, and her gaze shifted to the dark sky. Still wrapped in his Fire Rat shirt she closed her eyes. Even though her back was burned she couldn't feel the pain from the wound, yet she longed to do so. She longed for the burning sensation when a splinter pierced her flesh, the pain of her heart breaking when she left Inuyasha. She wanted to feel again. Inside her shirt, she could feel the Shard pulsing, and she gripped it tightly against her chest. When the Jewel was full once more, she would destroy it. She wouldn't allow herself to be Selfish... She wouldn't...Couldn't wish for this body to become real again.

InuYasha had been so wrapped up in the kiss, that he'd lost himself, let his guard down, and hadn't even realized that she had healed his wounds until the miko had pulled away from him. It was refreshing, to know that he wasn't bleeding anymore, that his arm was fixed. Although, his body still lingered behind Kikyou's power and his mind told him that he hurt. Physically? No, that couldn't have been it. It had to be something else. Something that struck him down and stomped on him like he was just a door mat.
Of course, being the hot headed creature that he was, he couldn't help but complain to her like he always did Kagome. "Kikyou, I told you I was fine!" His voice showed his disapproval and he scowled at her under her breath. Not the question was if it was just a trick so she could heal his wounds. He wasn't sure what to call it right now. Maybe it was just a game that they were always playing with each other. Maybe it was just the love that lingered at the surface of their skin, just crying out.
His dark orbs then locked onto her gaze for a second, and he saw that sadness. That same sad and lonely expression that she had given him the first time that they had really just sat down and spoke with each other. That was the first time that he had ever felt guilty in his life fifty years ago. That was the time that had never gotten her out of his mind. It had made him watch her, spend time with her, or just be by her side in silence. How did she just effect him in such a way?
"Kikyou..." His voice trailed because he didn't know what to say to her anymore. He didn't know how to respond to her because back then, he wasn't as close to her. He could just yell at her and tell her to stop complaining about everything. Now, he couldn't. He couldn't raise his voice like that anymore, try and push her away how he always had. His gaze then shifted away from hers and he stayed silent, trying to think of something, just anything that would allow him to speak with the miko. He waited then.
Finally, he managed to get some words in his head. He needed to talk to her about something. Something that had drawn them together and still kept them connected. "What are you going to do with those shards of the Shikon no Tama?" If there was one thing that he was sure that he wasn't going to do, that would be give her his shards of the jewel. Even if she had convinced him to, there was always going to be Kagome that would not support the idea of him even taking the jewels in the first place
That was espically if he was going to give the jewel to Kikyou. He knew that Kagome knew that he had agreed with Kikyou to become human. All of those memories that Kikyou had, Kagome had seen them over and over with one on one encounters with Kikyou. He'd even told her about some things here and there. Would Kagome even let the jewel ever become complete anyway? Would he ever be able to use it? Because there was always Kohaku who used the jewel to live. He knew Sango would kill any of them if they took his life.

His scowl and words didn't fall on deaf ears, a soft smile etched itself upon her lips. To her, healing him and the Kiss wasn't a game. To be honest, if she hadn't had a reason to get so close to him, she wouldn't have been able to will herself to kiss him. They never got close like that any longer, and to be quite honest she wasn't sure if he'd wish to be like that with her again.
"I'm sure you are fine now.." she stated with that same light smile etched onto her lips. It was always something with the two, Whether it was him being stubborn or she straightening out the facts they always seemed to toy with one another. Strange as it may be, it was just their way of Loving one another. They weren't like most others out there, they didn't get to see one another on a daily basis nor did they share intimate details about their lives. All they knew was their love for one another was stronger then any Demon, and the Shikon Jewel.
When his dark gaze locked onto her own, she tried to smile once more. Though her sadness still lingered in her eyes, she tried to wave it off. It was no one's concern but her own. As her name left his lips, she sighed softly and diverted her own gaze. It was nice, letting her name roll off his lips, yet it wasn't a happy calling. He seemed to sense her displeasure, and it made him upset as well. She hated knowing that she upset him, and so she tried to seem alright.
His next question caught her a bit off guard, as if he'd heard her thoughts. Did he know of her selfish wish? She took a breath, she wouldn't say it, she couldn't do it anyhow. "I plan to Destroy it once again." the words flowed from her lips just like any other sentence would. Yet behind them lay the lies, and the wish she longed to tell him. Could she take the Jewel and wish upon it to bring this un real body back to life? Leave what she had, Soul and all as it was, but only make her human again.
She sighed, and shook her head slightly... she couldn't.

She had planned on destroying it. He should have known that in the first place. Though to be honest, he was surprised that Kikyou wouldn't take on the duty of protecting he jewel again. Why did she not destroy it before when she just could have? Would it have made her life a lot easier? He couldn't understand as the thoughts circled though his head. That may have not been one thing he would ever be able to figure out. She was so complex that it was normally even hard just to tell what she was thinking anytime.
A smirk crossed the teen's lips though as he glanced back at her again, finally meeting her gaze. He had to stop himself from being so emotional all the time. It was going to get him in trouble one day again and Kikyou wouldn't be there to help him all the time. Kagome didn't have much of an ability to heal like Kikyou. If anything, she brought that magic stuff from her world that could cure a sore or a would in just a couple of days. It could make modern people wonder what happened to real mikos like Kikyou though.
"That's not very much like you Kikyou, willing to take someone's life... no a human's life just to complete the jewel." It wasn't like he could really do it himself now. He'd become so attached to humans again since he traveled with three of them. They were like the family that he'd never had and there was Kagome too. The second lover he'd never had. Kikyou could never be like Kagome in some ways and to be honest, it was sad. Kagome had even said it over and over, she and Kikyou were nothing alike.
He then leaned back, allowing his blood stained white kimono piece to come in contact with the dirt. He crossed his arms behind his head for support. "I'll have to wish you good luck though. We're not giving up our shards that easily." He glanced back over at her for a second. It was a friendly challenge that he had to get out. Yet all at the same time, it was more like a serious threat. It didn't mean that he'd kill her to fight for the shards. wait, he didn't even know if he could fight her.
Allowing the thoughts to twist through his mind, InuYasha looked back up ta the night sky. All of those stars were beautiful when you took the time to just try and relax and look at them. They could capture your attention. He remembered looking at the stars with his mother, always looking for shooting one. The funny thing was that they were all like little suns, just waiting to explode, one after the next. He wondered if such a fate would become him one day. Would these emotions explode in side of him? Would he ever lose control as a human or a demon?

Of course she had lied, it wasn't something she cared to do. Yet she'd just done it. Her heart was torn in many different directions, One to destroy the Jewel, Two Protect the Jewel and allow Kohaku to live under her guided eye, and Three take the Jewel for her own selfish ways and make her human once again. Yet, she couldn't allow herself to do the later, Could she? Even thinking such horrid thoughts made her wish to vomit, it was the very thing she stood against and here she was thinking of only herself.
Hearing his words her eyes narrowed as they locked onto his Dark eyes "It was Kohaku who stated he wished to Destroy Naraku and the Jewel. I would never take his life, it is He who wishes to give it." she stated a bit coldly. How could Inuyasha ever think she would take someones life, a Humans at that who didn't deserve it? "I would never forcefully take the Shard from him, as long as the boy keeps his heart pure, and keeps the shard only to sustain his life, I shall not bother him." She turned away from Inuyasha then, letting her gaze return to the pond, now lite up by the glow of the full moon.
Hearing him speak again she made a soft laugh "Alright Inuyasha, We'll see.." she returned the threat, though a soft smile remained on her lips as she said so. From the corner of her eye she watched as he leaned back, and she chuckled softly. Letting her own gaze travel to the stars. The bright lites flickering in her dark chocolate eyes, Many different thoughts raced through her brain.
Could she take the Shards from Inuyasha, she couldn't bring herself to injure him. If she kept the majority of the Shards, and kept an eye on the rest, Would that keep Evil beings like Naraku away and keep peace? She sighed heavily, pain once again frozen upon her features. Everyone always thought she wanted to Destroy the Jewel for her own sake, but that wasn't the case. The jewel was a beakon for Demons who longed for Power, Inuyasha should know that more then anyone. All it brought was pain, suffering and death.
Wouldn't they long to Destroy it too, if every soul it destroyed found it's way back onto you? She heard it only a daily Basis, how she let Naraku have the Jewel, Let him destroy countless lives. All Rumors and stories twisted by the gossiping folks of countless angry Villagers. She turned to look at Inuyasha, letting the pain well up in her eyes. Anger and Frustration clear in her dark eyes "If you have the Shikon Jewel, What do you plan to do with it?" she asked, her voice darker then she had intended. If he would do anything less then becoming a Human, she couldn't allow it. She wouldn't allow it..

He listened to her as she said that she wouldn't take Kohaku's life. Oddly enough though, he still found that hard to believe. If Kikyou wanted to complete the jewel and destroy it, then there was no way she could do it without taking a human life. He was sure that would maybe have some sort of impact on her. Although, he wondered what Sango would say or do to him if he had allowed Kikyou to do that. Kohaku was a nice kid really, they had spoken a couple of times here and there, nothing against him.
When she responded to his challenge about the Shikon no Tama, he couldn't help but allow a smirk to form on his face. This jewel was setting them apart one again, sending them against each other. If Kikyou would just side with him and hand other he jewel shards than they wouldn't have had this problem at all. They could go along peacefully like they had planned before. Now he wondered if it would ever be complete. Kikyou obviously didn't have the heart to take Kagome's life away from him... that was what be believed now.
Then she had asked him that dreadful question and the smirk on his face faded. Although, he didn't look at her when he responded. He'd had this talk with many people before. "Become a full demon of course," he replied to her. Many demons were rotten from the core in the beginning. Though he was sure that he was different. All he wanted the power for now as so that he could protect those that he loved. He knew that he wouldn't turn evil or try and devour his friends and family. He just couldn't do that.
"First thing I'll do is go take care of that stupid wolf," he stated. He hated Kouga for trying to take Kagome away from him so many times. Not that he couldn't kill the wolf after he got the Shikon no Tama shards from him. Although, once the jewel was complete, Kagome would be gone and back in her own era. So he could then do whatever he wanted, whenever he wanted without worrying about having to face the 'sit' command. Maybe if he were a full demon, he could withstand the beads better and break them.
"Then I'll take care of Sesshoumaru." There was always that rivalry with his brother that went on forever. He was sick of Sesshoumaru mocking him all of the time and treating him like some useless creature. InuYasha was anything but that. He had a purpose and that was that. Glancing back at Kikyou for a second, he blinked. If he had become a full demon when Kikyou wasn't around, would she still take him for who he was? Would she be willing to fall in love with a demon besides a hanyou or a human? The thought ventured through his mind.

Kikyo would find it in her heart, Easier for everyone to destroy the Jewel. Yet if Kohaku changed his mind, and didn't wish to die she wouldn't make him. He was so young, and she had bonded with the young boy, she wouldn't be the one to Kill him. Though of course, Koga and the others she had met who carried the Shards she would keep a ever watchful eye on. If they turned evil and power hungry, she would have to Kill them or Take their Shards. It would be the only thing she could do, it was hard enough letting Demons run about with the Shards. Though once Naraku is Finished, perhaps they could all have some peace.
She would never simply hand over her group of the Shard, never. She was the Miko set to protect the Jewel, it was her Duty. Her whole reason of existing. Especially if Inuyasha wished to only better himself, it would also call for Destroying the life of Kohaku, and removing the Wolf Demons shards. Could Inuyasha himself do such a thing?
Hearing his response, she turned her eyes into a rather angry scowl. A demon! He still, after everything in his life, wanted to become a Demon! Anger and Frustration seemed to flare in her eyes, of course now she would protect the Boy and Wolf Demon, Inuyasha would never be able to snatch their shards, So long as they remained Pure as they did now.
" Inuyasha you are a fool, You sit there and speak of me taking a Human life. Could you take Sango's little brother from her again? Let her sit there and watch as you Kill him? Could you be so Power Hungry and Selfish?" her words were cold as she peered at him with spiteful eyes. After everything, he still couldn't come to his senses.
"You will be taking that boys very life, all so you can stop the ridicule from your Brother? Have you not learned anything Inuyasha? You are stronger then Sesshomaru ever will become, he knows this so why don't you? You have something he doesn't, Compassion. You have the heart to know when destroying a life is honest or wrong. Do not throw that away, you will become just like him. Is that what you truly desire? To be alone.." she asked, her eyes softened slightly as she stared at him, as if pleading with him once again.
She knew he hated not fitting in, but still he was different. Being different was hard, and yet he just couldn't see how it made him stronger. Demons were to full of pride to admit their love for another being, they felt it made them weak. When in all honesty it made them Stronger.
"Inuyasha, I love you. You must know that by now, I have always loved you. I love who you are now, right here. Not just as a Human, but for whats inside of you. You are stronger then you allow yourself to see, Do not become the one thing I know you are not.." she spoke softer now, her eyes flickering with something new. Something deeper, something she hadn't let show in a very long time. How much she really cared for the Inu Hanyau.

He listened in silence as Kikyou's words came to his ears. They didn't just come in one side and go out the other but they stayed right there in his mind, replaying over and over again, adding on more words until the miko had finished. Now she was going to go and give him a speech or two? No, InuYasha wouldn't let her get away with something like that without defending himself in response. He sat back up, glaring at her again now. The hate wasn't as strong as it could have been if he didn't like her.
"Don't be going around jumping to conclusions! I just said I'd become a full demon if the jewel ever did become complete. I didn't say a thing about taking Kohaku's life! I'd never do that to Sango." His voice showed his defensive he was of himself and his own friends. Kohaku may have been some sort of distant family from him. He'd helped the kid a couple of times just as Kohaku had helped him. InuYasha honestly didn't want to see a single soul die. It really would be up to Kohaku now.
To be alone. No, he could never be alone again. He could never fall to Sesshoumaru's level. He would never allow something like that to happen to himself. It was true that InuYasha did have compassion and a heart to fuel it. "You seriously don't get it, do you Kikyou? You think I'd honestly be just like him? Like any other demon running around killing everything in sight, feeding on human flesh?" He felt like he'd been betrayed by her again, just by her words and it was something that he didn't like, this pain in his heart.
Finally, he stood back up, these human emotions just fueling his anger even more. He glared back at her still. "You know, I'm honestly starting to question if you really do love me. What would you do if I did become a full demon? Would you kill me? Huh, Kikyou?" His words were serious and the pain he felt was expressed in his eyes and in his voice. Even if it wasn't by the Shikon no Tama, who said that he still couldn't find another way to become a full demon. There had to be some way.
He crossed his arms in front of his chest, but didn't look at her now. He didn't want to look at her right now, he couldn't. That action was just to hard on him right now. Kikyou had nerve thinking such things. All he wanted to do was protect. Demons would always come after him if he was a human, a hanyou, or a youkai. Then those words escaped his lips barely, because it was hard for him to say as he looked back on at the stars again, trying to find something to concentrate on. "Would you even love me...?"

Hearing the anger in his own voice, she almost felt triumphant, he now knew the pain she had felt when he had jumped to conclusions as well. Though as it would always come to be, when he yelled at her she narrowed her eyes as she stared at him. Though inside she broke, she hated angering him like that but she couldn't help it. If he could say such things then she could to, that was only fair right?
She glared at him, anger boiling in her eyes "Inuyasha all I want is for you to stay the same, be the same man I love! How could you even question my love for you! What gives you that right? I only say such things because it scares me to think of Loosing you! Do you not understand that?" she asked getting to her feet, anger fueling her now.
"I would never, Ever, think you would become a savage. I just don't want you to loose the Inuyasha I love. The man right here, how can you tell me that he won't be gone? How can you know?" she asked, now as if trying to make him see her side of things. It scared her to death, to even think about loosing him. At least if he would stay like this, she could let him live a happy life with Kagome and know he would be alright. But if all he wanted was to become stronger, how could he know that the power would engulf him like it did his brother?
Frustrated and angered, she clenched her fists together, letting the white engulf her knuckles "I could never kill you Inuyasha! 50 Years ago I couldn't kill you! What makes you think that would be any different, Huh Inuyasha!" she nearly yelled, The pain surfacing once again "I only wish for the Jewel to be destroyed so that maybe we all can find peace! I would never out right take the Jewel from anyone who wasn't doing harm. I would never take the Jewel and use its power for my own Selfish gain, as much as I wish to be alive again." slowly down her cheek ran a single clear tear. The salt water glittered from the light of the moon and stars. "I lost you once, and I don't want to loose you again.." she whispered now.
She had to turn away from him now, Pain and anger welling in her chest and she could hardly breath. He didn't realize how much of her life was taken by the Jewel, how much she couldn't stand to loose him. Didn't he see, she died loving him. She couldn't kill him the day she though he Betrayed her, Instead she left him alive! Didn't he see that?
Hearing his last words, tears slowly streamed down her face, but she quickly wiped them away. How could she ever stop loving him? She'd never stopped, there was no way she could ever stop. Even if he was wild and killing, she couldn't come to Kill him! The worst she could do was put him to sleep once more... which in the end still broke her heart.

One thing that he really needed to work on was taking other people's feeling into consideration. He never thought about how Kikyou would feel when he just spat random stupid words out at her. He just spoke in a blind rage the majority of the time. Though he'd learned not to be kind to people and treat them with respect. That was just engraved in him now. It'd take a long time to change him enough to do that. Although, he had Kagome working with him on it, teaching him how to love again, how to cherish a life.
He couldn't smell it but something told him that something was wrong just by Kikyou's words. There was something off. No, the scent of the salt from her tears wouldn't come to his senses. that was another lack of being human right now. This feeling that suddenly rushed over him stabbed him in the heart. He grabbed the part of his white blood stained kimono where Kikyou had pierced him with an arrow and closed his eyes, trying to gather his thoughts right there as she continued to yell at him, talking to him about love and so on.
Yet finally when she was finish, he took the chance to look back at her, seeing that she wasn't looking at him. Through from what he could see, something shined off her cheek, and that's when he panicked. She was crying? No, Kikyou couldn't have been crying! He couldn't let her! If anything hit him more than a physical wound, it was him knowing that he had made some one cry. A concern grew over him as he tried to think of what to do but nothing would come to mind, so he reacted on instinct.
Just off human nature, he turned and went and got in front of her, kneeling down in front of the miko so he could be there for her. He hadn't meant to hurt her the way he did. He just wanted to get his point across, thinking that Kikyou would have been able to handle it. "Come on, Kiks," he said, trying to get through to her with a nickname. "Please don't cry." His ears would have pinned back if he had them in his hanyou form right now. He stared back into her eyes, trying to connect with her.
"Kikyou, I'm sorry. I was being stupid. I didn't mean it. I just don't think I'd lose myself," he paused for a second. "I... I just want to be stronger to protect you." His voice held honesty even if Kikyou wasn't the only one that he wanted to protect. There would always be other but Kikyou was his soul mate. Oh he would have been so much more stubborn with all of this, not expressing these emotions the way he did right now if he had the demon blood flowing through him right at this moment.

Pain was a constant reminder to her that she was here for one thing only, the selfish gain of another. She wasn't brought back to life for anything but. They wanted her powers, they wanted her ability to find the Jewel, and yet here she was crying once again. Kikyo hardly ever let herself break, ever. It wasn't like her, she didn't like other's feeling bad for her or looking at her with pity in their eyes.
She could only hope her words made him see it, made him open his eyes and understand her side of the story. How pained she would be to loose him to his Demonic side. There were power hungry fiends out there, whose souls were damned on gaining power and nothing else. She didn't wish to see Inuyasha become like that. She only wanted the best for him, and even if she wasn't the best for him she wanted him happy!
The tears slowly washed down her pale cheeks, as anger and frustration poured from her eyes. So many years of pain, lose, death and everything else poured from her eyes. She hadn't let herself break in quite some time, you could say it was coming. Then she heard his footsteps, and her eyes slowly flickered open. Looking upon the tanned face of Inuyasha.
Hearing his words, a soft chuckle passed her lips and she wiped the tears off her face. "It's alright Inu.. Im alright.." she whispered softly. Her cheeks damp, and a few strands of hair clinging to them as she tried to look him in the eye. She couldn't help but smile when he spoke, but another sigh passed through her lips "Inuyasha it's alright, you have no reason to be sorry." she couldn't help but to smile as she stared into his eyes "You do protect me, Everyday that I get to spend with you, you keep me going... You keep me alive." she whispered softly.

He felt a sense of relief run over him when she said that she was alright. InuYasha gave the miko before him a gentle smile. He couldn't help but do so. She made his heart beat and kept him going as well. there was never a second that he ever stopped thinking about her on any given day. They'd been sitting there all night, fighting a demon, collecting jewel shards, sharing a kiss, and then fighting with each other again. It'd passed by so quickly that he hadn't even noticed that the sun was beginning of rise.
InuYasha felt his body begin to pulse, the demonic blood flowing into his system again, awakening itself. His nails grew back out to form claws. Teeth grew back into sharp fangs. His eyes grew brighter, returning to their sunlit yellow with the cat slits. Those human ears went up the side of his head, taken the form of elven ears for brief moment before turning into dog ears that rested on the top of his head. Those black locks of hair faded away to become brillaint strands of a silvery light blue. All his senses came rushing back to him.
The transformation had only taken a couple of seconds. He took in Kikyou's sweet fragrance and just about flashed her a fanged smile before thinking of her words. The inu hanyou pulled the miko into a tight embrace, refusing to let go but was gentle enough to not hurt her. He rested his chin on her shoulder since they were already at about the same level. He didn't want to tell her his idea but knew it was necessary for maybe both of them. Although, he was almost sure she would object unless he had an impact on her right now.
"Kikyou, if you won't come with me then allow me to protect you more. I don't want to lose you either," he began. "Please, let me take your shards of the Shikon no Tama, and I'll protect them. As long as you carry even a single shard, you're always in danger. I can't be there to protect you every time." His voice was almost like a silent whisper but it held a sweet velvety touch to it, as he tried to convince her. To many demons always came after her now.

As the sun slowly rose across the horizon, the Orange rays streching out across the lands. Creatures big and small soon started to awaken, each by the warm grace of the sun. As it's warm rays crossed over Inuyasha, she smiled as she watched him change before her eyes. He was still the same Inuyasha to her, and she would love him in either form. He was still handsome as ever.
His fanged grin was all but natural, and a warm smile rested upon her pale lips. Though she hadn't expected to be pulled into his arms, and a look of shock crossed over her features. But slowly it once again shifted into a rather serene look as she pressed her face into his silver hair. Feeling his strong arms wrap around her, letting her worries dissappear for a moment or two.
When at first he started speaking, she smiled. Listening to him, it was calming but as he continued her face drew into a scowl once more. How long had she protected the shard alone? Defended it from many youkai, only one ever escaped with it... and that was when she wasn't around! She pulled away from his slightly, anger and yet a softness in her eyes "Inuyasha, I'll be just fine. Protecting the Jewel was my duty, and still is. I won't be far from you, I can assure you of that. If you ever need me, Whisper my name and I'll be there." she whispered softly.
Whether they were fighting one another, or another demon, she couldn't imagine her life without Inuyasha. He was her soul mate, she knew it from the moment their lips met Fifty years ago. When she was asked to protect the Jewel, she alone had to fend off Countless Demons, If he really thought she would be scared now, he thought wrong.

His ears fell back at her words about her being able to protect the jewel and herself. Was he ever going to get through to her? She was beginning to become as stubborn as he was and that was something he wasn't used to. Well, unless you couldn't Kagome but this was Kikyou, not her. His golden eyes hardened for a second but he looked away from her, trying to think of something to say. There had to be some way to get those jewel shards now so they wouldn't have to fight for them later on.
Taking in a deep breath, he finally looked back at her and took the miko's pale hands into his own clawed ones. His dog ears fell back and he granted an innocent puppy dog look on his face, almost childish. To finish it off, he tilted his head to the side and stared right into her eyes again, his soft and trying to keep up with that innocent look his face held expressed on it. "Please, Kikyou," he whined out as much as he could like a dog would. It worked around Kagome's friends, so why not Kikyou?
He was just so determined to find a way to get those jewel shards from her, even if that meant not acting like his normal self around Kikyou. Well, that really depended on how you defined his normal self. It could either be the InuYasha she had known 50 years ago or this hanyou that he was again, stubborn as ever when they'd first met. It would depend on how someone would view it. He wasn't sure how he always changed back and forth. It seemed that some things had a bigger impact on him than others did.
